It’s not uncommon for women to experience depression during pregnancy and/or postnatal depression. As a new mum your whole focus shifts away from you, on to your child. Your primary focus becomes raising healthy, happy, safe and secure children. However, with this focus comes a lot of pressure. This perceived pressure leaves you often exhausted and feeling overwhelmed as you try to be the perfect mum whilst still managing all the other responsibilities you took care of prior to motherhood. As a result your own health and happiness can get lost along the way.
Looking after your health and happiness empowers you to be a better parent
You’re a great Mum, but it’s important not to neglect your own health and happiness. When you feel tired, stressed or sad, it impacts on your ability to care for your child in the best way possible and it impacts on your own self esteem. By looking after your own needs on a regular basis, you will also protect yourself against more serious negative moods, such as depression.

Being a mother is very rewarding but can also be very challenging at times. As a new mum you can often feel like you’re juggling a million roles at the same time and never succeeding 100% at any of them. Feeling tired, on edge, insecure, guilty, anxious and stressed can place a significant strain on your health and the health of your relationships with you partner, friends, family and child/ren. Developing strategies to increase your confidence as a mum and believe in yourself are essential aspects of successful happiness in motherhood..
Your Counselling Session will be with Lizzie O’Halloran. Lizzie is the Founder of selfesteemonline and is also a mother of 2 young children. In addition to being an expert is self esteem, she is a health professional who knows how to create a mindset for healthy, happy and balanced living. Lizzie will work with you to focus on your specific needs and will help you understand your unique strengths, develop self-confidence and grow your confidence so that you feel engaged and fulfilled in your new parenting role. Lizzie works with mothers like you who are finding motherhood wonderful, but overwhelming at times. Lizzie helps to reduce the stress associated with motherhood and designs personalised plans for coping with the pressures of motherhood that best suit your life and your family’s lifestyle too.
Your Coaching package
You begin with a single session to make sure we’re the right fit to be working together. A standard coaching package includes either 3 or 6 one hour sessions with Lizzie O’Halloran. Most of our clients are very busy, so prefer to conduct sessions over the phone. However, Lizzie also conducts in-person sessions in her Armadale office if would prefer to work in person.
We also provide complementary support in between sessions when you need support most.
It’s not always easy to remember everything you wanted to address during your scheduled session. Things often come up in between sessions that you need help with right now and don’t want to have to wait until your next session to address. We truly care about our clients. We offer quick text based support when you need assistance and feel you cannot wait to address the issue until at han. It’s Free and it’s quick.
- 1x 60 min session – $120
- 3x 60 min session package – $300 (valid for three months)
- 6 x 60 min session package – $540 (valid for six months)
